I did get my bunny hat washed, though... which is good cos we're expecting snow and frozen rain shortly. I guess I'ma get better. It still hurts like all hell (not to mention the rest of me is sore now, too... feel like I got laid into by a mob all wielding baseball bats) but I am sane and ambulatory.

It actually didn't occur to me that I'd written it like a story until after it was posted.....

sorry about that. *scratches head, then grimaces cos that's what's wounded* Guess I only have one literary format, huh?

But thanks for all the well-wishes. Looks like I'm back in the game.

Are you afraid of horses now, or will you continue riding?

I wouldn't blame her if she does. I'm scared of horses and I haven't even ridden one.

Whenever I see one, I just think at what they did to Christopher Reeve. *Shudders*

Hope you have a speedy recovery Hops.

Naw, I've been kicked in the teeth by cows, and I still sit under them to milk them. I'm hardheaded that way... LOL yeah, I know. Nine parts stubborn, four parts determined, eighteen parts bloody stupid.

But it's not the horse's fault the saddle came loose. I'm actually really good at staying stuck to the saddle.... regardless what the horse wearing it does. If the saddle hadn't rolled over, I wouldn't have gotten this head injury... so it's not like she attacked me or something traumatizing like that.

Misti and I are still pretty good friends. As it turns out, the saddle in question rolled because, get this... IT WAS FOR A HORSE TWICE HER SIZE!!! Who'da thunk? Misti is a bigass draft girl, and she was too small for the saddle! Yikes. I'd hate to meet the monster meant to wear it.

In the meantime, I'd like a saddle that fits the mare we already have..........

Where exactly do you live Hops?

What state, I mean. Or country if you don't live in the U.S., I just thought you did because you said something about paying to go to the hospital.

I'm in Texas, which is in the United States of America... yes. However, while they are legally obligated to treat me, I was not about to go and get a debt I'd have to work off until I was eighty if I didn't have to.

That and I'm a bit paranoid about being imprisoned by the AMA. I and my family are herbal healers, see... the "witches" of the medical profession. It works, though, cos I ain't dead yet.

Although... chemical soup or herbal cocktail, the medicine is still worse than the cure!! LOL it always tastes terrible.

If I had really needed stitches, or bolts in my skull, or whathaveyou, then yes I'd have gone running lickety split for the local surgeon to have that corrected. But I didn't break anything important. It's been almost four days and right now all I got is a buttload of soreness and a few tender areas. Oh and I still can't rest the weight of my head on the back, yet. But I can live with that.

And I don't have a medical bill worth more than I would be, if I was sold on the black market. (I'm told blonde blue eyed girls are expensive...)

you are grossly overestimating the cost of medical care

anyways... if you had brain trauma... you would have become mentally handicapped and would never have been able to work a high paying job...

so it really is the choice between 2 or 3 thousand dollars... or mental retardedness/ death

it takes a couple of years to pay back 2 or 3 k if you are only paying back at like a 5% rate... or you could do it in one lump sum after like 4 months of any decent job...

Personally, I think she's fine (not to offend you, but if any real damage was done i'd think you would've known by now). However, its your choice to take the risk of not going, or the risk of going. I'm sorry its risky to do both...

With a head injury you should always go to the hospital or at least a doctor just to be safe.

Well, I missed out on all the drama (We have an announcements section?) but it's good to hear that you're OK. I've personally fallen from a stampeding pony into a bed of cacti without getting injured, but I still don't like riding horses. I haven't rode one in... wow, twelve years!

But cactus is soft - it's just covered in tiny pricklies, is all. The pads or the stems or the balls or whathaveyou are really really soft and mushy. Makes good cushion for falling into.

Me? I hit GRAVEL

WOO! Rockbrains!!

LOL leave it to me to pick something hard to fall onto.
