Its not gay
It doesn't one hit everything retard, you gotta take a look at the other stuff in WH:40K, and youy will find that the most armor brings its effect down to to that of a modern gun, the armor sort of negates its high power.

i'd rather be equipped with a blessed boltgun than a hellgun

or a lascannon... my marine army has 2 dev squads with 4 lascannons each... and all of my tanks are equipped with dual linked lascannons...

tyrand armoes are fucked against my marines because I can kill all of the big bugs in the first 2 turns ^^

You know that Canonically each shot from a hell gun delivers a force near equal to that of a Modern MBT's Main Gun?

Bolters are awesome, but you gotta love lines of guardsmen with lasguns, almost impossible to beat in a head on assault, although using deepstrike can screw over a section of the line and allow a passage for your troops to break through.

I prefer the sound of chainswords ripping through guardsmen as my marines rush forth out of my land raider and rhino's

I usually have a razorback instead of a rhino... but on days when I want to fight in close combat I use the rhino's

Basalisks + guardsmen + Baneblade = pwnage
IG beat ALL when properly used, which is quite difficult for most

Basalisks and baneblade are worthless when I am in close combat phase by the end of the first turn (my tyranid army not my marines)

and if your using baneblade then I get to use my Heirophant... god I love that model... only ever gotten to use it on 1 game

Fine no baneblade.

your units are not going to get close enough to hit those basalisks though, wont be ble to get to 'em. I tend to create a frontal line and then a back one which can normally handle any units that deep strike

....
no lasgun
no bolter
and no hellgun
...unless you can convince me that the lasgun is weak enough.

well.... the lasgun can be lower powered(like, say, 3 shots to destroy something like a ghost) and the fact that each battry-clip only delvers enough power for a dozen or so shots.

It also has limited range, like that of a BR, any further and the beam gets to weak to do any serious damage to armor or shields.

hmmmm.......
