Aside from the military, yes. I don't think anything should change from a legal perspective.

I just think we should stop promoting all this bullshit about gender equality and just lighten up a bit. Instead, we should encourage people to adhere to some vague gender-specific principles.

There's nothing wrong with telling a young boy that he should aim to provide for his wife and kids, and there's nothing wrong with telling a young girl that she should aim to be a good mother to her children.

This all started with my comments about Megan Fox, and I guess what I was getting at there is that women should not allow their sexuality to be objectified. So... that too I guess.

And there's nothing wrong with letting woman in the military or being a house husband.

I think women should be allowed to serve as Infantry in the army, if they're capable that is (individually).

And none of us are saying there is. We're simply saying that, while allowing for individual freedoms, we shouldn't be shoving it down people's throats to the point where housewives are looked down on for not properly exercising their freedoms to be business women.

Well... I have a problem with women in the military. It's not that they aren't capable. I'm sure millions of women are far more capable of military service than I am. It's a matter of... well I don't know. I don't like the idea of war being any more than a man's burden.

If I were a soldier, who joined the military in a defensive war to protect my wife and children, I would certainly not want to be fighting alongside women. I think it just... ruins the romanticism of joining the military, which may sound like a stupid complaint, but it really bothers me.

Also, fraternity is an extremely important concept to men serving in the armed forces. When a man and a woman have some strong affections toward one another, they only care about keeping each other alive. They don't work as hard to ensure the survival or success of their entire team.

I'm gonna re-iterate on all of this, as I've been thinking about it a lot the past 2 days.

It's really not my business to determine the life styles that I think other should follow. The system which I described is that one which attracts me most, and I'm not at all attracted to those sort of... over-sexualized, alpha-female types.

So... it's not that I think we should encourage children to grow up to fit the roles I described. But just as we should not do that, we also should not be telling young girls that they absolutely must grow up to be successful, independent business women.

We should encourage all reasonable life-style perspectives equally.

I've never really seen anything special about Megan Fox. The only time I've found her remotely attractive is in the picture of her half-naked on the first page of this thread. However... that would work with quite a few women (and for many, significantly more so). Just look at Red Alert 3!

She just has a reputation and a tendency to be in borderline-porn positions. There's really nothing else that's special about her.
