Re: Inteligent Design & Darwinism in Schools

the Roman writings of Tacitus, Seutonius, Thallus and Pliny, and the Jewish writings of Josephus and the Talmud all mention a man named Jesus from nazareth and crowds followed him wherever he went. they also say (paraphrase) that at the very least strange things happened around him

dont tell me Jesus didnt exist

although that is not what this discussion is about i was just mentioning that to tell you my view point and how it doesnt really have any effect on how humans came into being, i believe God was behind it either way but, the world and humans might have been formed through evolution and, from my perspective, more likely, through 6 days
so I believe both ways should be taught in schools

I say neither... too much middle ground in the argument (plus a ton of other religions), so even if you teach both there will be unhappy people.

At that kind of logic: Where did god come from? What's it matter anyway?

No matter what school of thought you subscribe to, none can give purpose to life.

God or if just plain evolution energy
as derived from the theory of relativity
are not affected by time

since reaching certain speeds (having enough energy) time slows and matter is created

so this next applies to God and energy

God is outside time being. not doing different stuff but being.
time is like a book. we are in the book.
from our perspective that is filtered by time we see God bound by time because when God is in time God is affected by time.
but time has a beginning and an end but God (analogy) through our eyes is reading the book and has progress but outside of time time is over begining and in the process all at the same time
since beginning is a term that is bound by time God and energy has no beginning.
neither does time but it is complete and beginning

you explained it clearly. but it's like explaining unicorns running on rainbows. I understand what its saying, but it has absolutely no realistic basis in reality.

theory of relativity perfectly.

You're very unrealistic theory, no.

Re: Inteligent Design & Darwinism in Schools

Post by kslidz on Sat Feb 14, 2009 8:37 pm

ok so we have tested as much as we can and the theory of relativity point to
if you can acquire enough energy we interpret that through speed
time slows down
therefore time starts to quit affecting
so pure energy cannot be affected by time

plus if there was no beginning to time (which doesnt make sense cause the laws of time say stuff must have a beginning and end) where did the matter (matter can neither be created nor destroyed) come from
in evolution or intelligent design within time there must be a beginning
matter had to have a beginning
evolution says that the universe was created through pure energy
where did the energy come from? it didnt it was just there is still there and will be there

basically Christians God without a plan for humanity

i dont know of any theory that doesnt come to the conclusion that whatever started us was outside of time that is a complete theory

come up with one and then argue

but from everything i have read christian atheist whatever alludes that the starting factor for the universe had no beginning making it infinite and infinite cannot be bound by time
other theories in atheist and christian circles also say it clearly and dont just allude

you cant just say that doesnt make sense give logical reasoning if you disagree

Just read the title. Fox News is obviously biased, but the article is about church goers who question the fundamentals of the Bible and want to talk creation vs evolution. That's not exactly a right slant, if you ask me.

It's the exact opposite of what fox is biased for, making it all the more convincing.

This is the church itself, not just a kook that has HTML experience.

I got up this morning, saw this on the TV, and at first I thought of some naughty words, then I realized that it was gold when it came to this thread ^^
