The God Who Wasn't There

Post by ReconToaster on Sat Feb 14, 2009 9:22 pm

Watch the video, the whole way through, before commenting.

Why should the existence of Christ be taught in schools?

The video is one hour long! I'm not going to watch that!

I'm not saying it should be taught in schools you twit, I'm saying that neither evolution or religion should be taught in schools.

Now they're even teaching global warming in schools... sad. Keep your dumb theories out of schools!

I swear....

I'm sorry if some people are idiots, but WTF? You people look for the worst possible things you can find and try to insist that every religious person is like that. GET A LIFE!

What's wrong with global warming? It's not just a theory, but something that has VERY CLEAR and VISIBLE results right now in the real world. Not only that, but global warming of all things is not challenging any religious beliefs of others. Civ, you really do not have to be an aithiest to "believe in" global warming.

Never said you had to be atheist. But they are teaching it as a huge thing in my school. It's a controversial issue, so keep it out of the education system.

I'm talking about the existence of Jesus. This is not related to the ID thread.

Civ, this thread is not about global thread. We know that green house gases trap in heat. We know that C02 is a green house gas. We know that we release a lot of c02 into the air. Make the connection fuck-tard

We also know that the Earth warms and cools on its own without human interference, and that the Earth was warmer a few hundred years ago, which allowed for the Vikings to sail across a warmer, less stormy North Sea and to Iceland, Greenland, and eventually Canada.

I'll watch the video later, and thusly comment on the main topic later.

Don't have a high-speed connection, not going to spend ten hours downloading a one-hour video, and am going to leave this to Rot.

Why would you teach the existence of Christ in schools? There's no reason to do so, other than because that's why the AD calender was started.

I know it exists, I just don't think it's as bad as some make it out to be. [/debate]

Honestly, I don't think anything that's extremely controversial should be taught in schools. You can tell them there's an argument, but I don't even think that the sides of the arguments should be taught as the teacher would likely be biased for one side and make it sound better. Things like religion, politics, whatever.

I doubt there is anyone here that thinks that Jesus's existence should be taught, not even myself.
