Gears has a few ups...
The ability to plant grenades, and just the grenades themselves are better.
The fact that you have to take cover is much better, as it makes you have to think strategy.
Also, it takes much more skill with a lot more of the weapons than the point-and-shoot Halo system.
They're both fun-games, I'm not even going to think of either Campaign.

halo had some pretty epic moments... although most of them were already shown in vids Razz

I'm gonna go with Halo on account that I couldn't subject myself to Gears long enough to complete it. Very repetitive gameplay, with no sense of progression in the story (in one or two, though one is forgiven because it was fun when new).

I find the Halo-verse much more compelling than that of Gears. But RvB pwns them both Razz

And the worm was?

Halo didn't do as well as it should have, but by comparison Gears has NO story at all. The second had something at least of a plot, but not much.

eh, both were pretty much letdowns...
but Gears was the biggest letdown really.
