Re: Mass Effect 2
It does, but so far nothing else has surfaced about it.
Oh and to counter that RL, Bioware read virtually every complaint about Mass Effect and worked to try and fix them, which they nearly did.
Because everybody has been complaining about the mineral scanning (Damn right too) I seriously doubt it will be making an appearance in ME3

Well if that's what they actually did
They better fucking fix the grav tank, unless they purposely like making frustrating vehicle sections.

Yeah, so for instance, instead of replacing the Mako with mineral scanning, they could have taken what was fundamentally wrong with the Mako, and using new technology, make it a hell of a lot better. What was wrong with the Mako in the first place? I thought it was all right, so long as there was some semblance of an interactive environment that looked marginally different then the next environment. The controls were really bad, and it had no weight, and instead of fixing these two issues, they could have improved the controls, and improved the environment quality. Their complaint address didn't seem to correct the fundamental flaw of the Mako, which was dullness, because they created an equally dull alternative.
I think the Mako would have opened up the game a LOT, like, not just 3 explorable environments anymore, but dozens, and if they put down dozens, they probably will be well made, and not small, like the Citadel, Illium, and Tuchanka.

Re: Mass Effect 2
I agree Ring leader.
I'll save my rant for when it's needed, but i believe that ME2 removed too many of the RPG elements that made the original Me excellent. I still love ME2, but i miss planet exploration, a shit load of side missions, and just the fun of exploring the galaxy.
Hell we didn't even talk with a Hanar at all during the game and had very limited talks with any elcor. The rachni weren't shown or talked about at all during the game (other than the scout ships).
The citadel plays nearly no role during the game at all and you can't even explore it. The vorcha aren't as tough as they were made out to be (very easy IMO) and the game pretty much left the protheans in the dark.
Yet again i love the game, but alot of things were left out.

Re: Mass Effect 2
My major qualm with the game was the lack of protheans. Protheans were the basis for the entire first game, and everything revolved around them. Now they're not even mentioned, yet people still believe they made the Citadel and Mass Relays.

Re: Mass Effect 2
Well they are still playing a role in the story, but the first one was all about the discovery of what happened to the Protheans, now we know what happened, and we can chart their fall, their isn't much more we can say about them
Having them be the Collectors was the best they could do really, as it's a nice reminder of what will happen to the population of the galaxy should they fail, as ME2 was more about stopping the Reapers, than working out the mysteries of the Protheans.
I would have liked more exploration and side missions honestly, but I am glad they cut out a lot stuff that really needed to be removed.
Still, a bigger focus on exploration and side missions would be nice.

Re: Mass Effect 2
Still, it's not like the protheans just disappeared from everyone's mind. Almost everyone doesn't know the truth about the protheans. Entire missions about the protheans would be too much, but they should at least be mentioned. Not until the Collector ship were protheans mentioned, and after that they were mentioned rarely and far between.

Re: Mass Effect 2
I was fortunate enough to play the only Prothean side mission before getting there. Honestly the contents of that mission could easily been expanded, and I think it would have strengthen the latter reveal about the collectors.

Well, On one planet, the Blue Suns seem to have attacked an archological dig which was calling for assistance, and they think the artifacts they find might be valuable.
You fight through them all, and find out about a LT who has taken a package (Which leads to a raid on a frieghter)
Anywho, once they're dead you find another Prothean Beacon, which Shepard activates and gets another vision. Most of it is recycled footage from the last game, but it also has several images of collectors in it.
