Haha, it didn't even get used in a combat role though.
You can only build them in that mission too, really it fulfills it's role as a repair machine exactly.

In campaign, only one of the spartans wields the laser. Each Spartan wields a different weapon.

How many levels do you fight the flood for? And are there any missions where you encounter the covenant already fighting the flood?

Except the Spartan Laser wasn't even around.
And the Chaingun? Give me a frikkin' break! There's a reason it's not an infantry weapon. It was barely alright when it was an infantry turret that could be ripped off, but an actual weapon?

I mean, seriously, the Spartans would have been better off with normal infantry weapons, with upgrades to sniper rifle or anti-vehicle rifle. (Think M99 Stanchion Rifle)

And does the Prophet get seen in campaign?

You fight the Flood on levels 8,9,10,11,13,14 and 15

13,14 and 15 having both Flood and Covenant forces.

I agree with you on the Spartans, though gameplay wise I have to admit that they are "fun" to use. Canonically, not as much.

I don't recall seeing the prophet in campaign, he does come in the cutscenes though. Also, the brute chieftain is not at all encountered in the campaign (brute units however are) nor the cutscenes. Now that I think about it, none of the covenant hero units appear in gameplay.

But they are a lot of other, more noticeable mistakes in the campaign.

For example, at one point you have the ability to fire 45 MAC shots on one location.

Who the hell thought that was a good idea?

Then you are a fool.

You might as well have dropped a NOVA on the area.

It would of done less damage.
