Killzone 2

Played it, beat it, and ranked up in MP

It was pretty awesome, I must say. Even on the 'trooper' (normal) difficulty (we wanted to finish it fast) we ended up having to repeat areas due to sheer difficulty. The thing that was weird though, was that the easiest way to beat most scenarios in the campaign was to charge in with the knife like a bat out of hell. Stab. Run. Repeat.

The early bits of the story have AMAZINGLY epic cutscenes, and there's maybe 1 or 2 later that fill the 'epic' catagory.

The multiplayer was sleek and overall VERY good. My only concern is the lack of starting options. Basically 1 class, 2 primary weapons, 1 sidearm...that's it, unless someone of a different class drops their gun. It takes 3 rank ups to unlock the second class.

One thing that was very unique (in my experience) with KZ2 MP, was the gametype execution. Instead of 1 gametype per match, it could be up to 5 gametypes, which cycle through until a faction either has 5 wins, or the time runs out. The gametypes are Body Count (team slayer) Acquire and Hold (territories) Search and Destroy (assault) Find and Retrieve (ctf) Assassination (VIP).

The maps were all consistently medium maps. I nice middle-point between battlefield size maps, and halo sized maps that fit the gameplay AMAZINGLY. It's not too fast, but it's not too slow either. Plenty of strategy, plenty of mind numbing madness. It balances it all perfectly.

NO EMOTIONAL INVESTMENT IN STORY DESPITE 'EMOTIONAL' SCENES


If you know anyone with a PS3, MAKE THEM GET THIS GAME. It will make possessing that paperweight worthwhile (provided LittleBig Planet didn't)

you mean killzone 2, littelbig planet, metal gear solid and stardust HD.

There was some racegame on PS3 that looked really good, at least on the graphics level. Killzone 2's unit design however seems rather boring, the Hellghast don't appeal to me as a fun enemy.

I dont know anyone with the electronic paperweight. Nor do I own one. So this game means nothing to me.
