This is the official place to discuss the Presidency of George W Bush. If I see any more derailing of this topic, I'll just start deleting posts. Have a nice day. Very Happy

he did fine... the errors he made were blown WAY out of proportion by the media...

he also managed to get things done despite being constantly attacked by the media, having 2 branches of govt controlled by the opposite party, and having the lowest approval rating ever...

IMO that is an incredible feat...

he was the first president to have to go up against the internet (Bill Clinton had the internet... but it wasn't near as huge as it is today)... the Internet is what let things spread so fast about him...

He needed to know how to keep the media not firing out bad stories about him. He needed to get a better image. That was his fault.

The US isn't a communist country nor a dictatorship, government does not control the media under normal circumstances.

regardless of who has control over the media you can still manipulate it.
The Media is a wild beast and he didn't know how to feed it properly.

As KrAzY said the media blow everything out of proportion.
Play a game or soccor and they accuse you of being a lazy president, Have a drink of a beer and you are an alcoholic.

It isn't as eazy to live with them watching your every move. I agree with KrAzY and think he did a decent job but was portrait as a terrible president.

Actually, because of his horrid deeds, he was the best Pres. He showed our country what not to vote for next time. He told us not to do as he did.
Which would be this: :BannanaBeer:

He wasn't great, but he's better than the government we have now (and I'm not just talking about Obama, I'm starting to hate Congress as well)

No, I am a media shit monster.
He sent a bunch of dudes to Iraq, were we don't belong, which made USA spend billions of $ on the quote 'war'.
There was no purpose whatsoever, only to let him make money, while sending the rest of America into a big giant shithole.
Then, we elected Obama because he wanted to get troops out of Iraq, which he hasn't done. Obama just re fucked us, so US is screwed in to a
tiny wooden board.

Too bad that war is the biggest economy jump-start available, which is probably what kept our economy up for so long. Not to mention all those dudes we don't belong volunteered. And as for the cost, we were already trillions in the hole, it isn't that much of an addition.

What money did Bush get out of this?

Our service in Iraq isn't what's screwing us, it's the economy.

Media or not theres no reason for us to be in at least one of those countries anymore, we fought we won now they want us to leave... or they blow themselfs up, thats the war in Iraq for you. Not everyone likes to be occupied by a foreign army very much

The economy was bound to take this hit, the only real thing that got us out of the depression was WWII not socialist ideals. The ecomoney held together afterwards becuase we had the russians and western nations to compete with.

However the Iraq war isnt screweing the ecomony, if anything it held it up for a bit. Bush did decent enough, not great but decent. Theres been worse presidents.
