Assault Weapons Ban?

Obama team is pushing for an Assault Weapons Ban.
Personally, I am both against this and believe it will never pass.
NRA is too big for one, plus it would piss off ALOT of people, including myself.

Your thoughts?

Banning Assault Weapons is a huge spot on the Do Not List.

why the fuck do citizens need assault weapons?


rifles and shotguns for hunting are one thing... but there is absolutely no need to allow access to machine guns and such...


let the police keep em... but unless its a demilitarized version of that gun (aka a gun just for show... such as a veterans weapon) then the public should have absolutely no access to them


pistols, shotguns, and hunting rifles are all that the normal person should be allowed to attain

But yeah, i agree. The second amendment is outdated.

Assault rifles are basically perfect for hunting.
7.62 mm rounds murder them, and seing how they are semi-auto with a 30 round clip.

btw, automatic weapons are banned, the only assault rifles available to the public atm are semi-auto assault rifles.

Now, please explain to me WHY they should be banned?

the main reason anyone should cite for why is the fact they're far easier to aim and operate than pistols/handguns

personally i want them not banned just with crazy restrictions, cause i want to be able to have a collection of assault weapons of all kinds on my wall lol

gonna start with a G36 cause i love it, than m-16 and then TAR and go from there

Assault Rifles are more than a tad bit harder to acquire and conceal if someone really wanted to use it to cause harm.

Banning them wouldn't stop people who wanted to kill/ use for thefts from using them int he first place. The black market would continue to sell them, so people who actually plan on killing someone or commiting those sorts of crimes will still be able to get them.

If we don't have guns, the zombies will easily take over! Make them automatic!

This is a topic that I'm really not sure about. While it's true that nobody REALLY needs an m16... I have seen Red Dawn.

On the other hand, the unfortunate truth is that if we were invaded by... china... the militias defending US soil would probably be a bunch of redneck idiots... which is depressing.

And yeah, you only need 'commemorative' assault weapons... so, AK-47s and M-16s that can only fire semi-automatically.
