Re: Windows users are screwed?
Well, all my scans came up negative, so I think I'm safe. Still, I don't think it has been activated yet, as I haven't heard any reports of it, so I can't be sure.

Re: Windows users are screwed?
My school was infected with a virus not too long ago, the virus raged on and shut down most of everyones W drives..
Anyone think these are the same ones? If so, im gonna ask my teachers if anything happened.

A file that every student has on their computer to save stuff onto.
The one that was 'activated' today has been going on for a while now, it wasn't just released today civ..

My school's server could still have it, since I have yet not been at school..

However Conficker virus A and B were developed a long time ago and were mainly focused around its spread-ability. Those first 2 variants' were designed to just infect thousands of computers and not do anything (to our knowledge anyways). For all we know they could have opened a door for Version C to enter and fuck up people's systems.
So A and B were sitting in thousands of computers long before April 1st.

Re: Windows users are screwed?
It was more like millions of computers, not thousands. A scan I ran came up as having found some sort of virus. But it said it was successfully quarantined. . . so I guess i'm good to go.
