Batman: Arkham Asylum.

Post by Vigil on Sun May 03, 2009 9:01 am

Anybody else excited for this? Batman usually has rather crap games, but this one looks promising.

I know no everyone likes the Dark Knight, but it's shaping up to be a pretty solid game with very interesting mechanics such as detective mode and covertly taking out thugs by descending from the rafters.

And good combat system as well.

I'd check it out.

The Dark Night was cool...

But I have an extreme dislike for superhero games.

It was.

Spiderman 2 and Hulk: Ultimate destruction were fun. The rest are average.

I don't really like DC either, but batman is the only exception.
Superman is the most unoriginal superhero in the history of the world, a practically invincible character, who only has one weakness and well known enemy. But batman isn't the same.

I think it will be a cool game, but I highly doubt I will buy it.

Yeah well... I hate marvel. Marvel characters are, for the most part, cheesy and dumb. I'll agree that Superman is fucking stupid, but Batman, The Flash, and Martian Manhunt all make up for that, and make DC superior. Srsly!

This game, and I've been following it for a while, looks pretty awesome. I'm hoping they'll be ale to break that 'Super hero games suxorz' trend that has existed for some time now. I suppose I did like that old Playstation Spiderman game... but I was pretty young.

I'm not sure if I'll get this game. If I do, I'll probably wait until it goes down in price quite a bit. This is one of those games that really makes me conflicted. If I do get it, do I buy it on PC or 360? The main reason I'd want to get it on PC is because I like to have all of my games on the same platform. Having to switch between systems bothers me in a sort of obsessive compulsive sort of way. Still, this looks like a game that will work best with a controller, as most 3rd person games tend to be.

I suppose I could go ahead and buy one of those 360 controllers for Windows, but there's something about sitting right up next to a PC monitor with a controller that just doesn't seem right...

Hmm....i have that spiderman game. Looking back at it, it wasn't stellar. Spiderman 2 Is still the best game in that franchise, and one of the best sandbox superhero games.

You quite some time to make your mind up, it's been delayed to the end of the summer.
