Why no SSB clone
Since the Nintendo 64 Microsoft Sony and some third party developer has had time to create a clone of ssb that would bring in millions but no one has.
How has this not happened yet.

Re: Why no SSB clone
There are not enough franchises under the different companies that can be called cartoony enough to be put into an SSB clone.

Re: Why no SSB clone
The 360 is too badass for cartoony characters, and the PoS3 is a PoS, so nothing good would go there.

Re: Why no SSB clone
ssb is really fun and it sells extremely well and considering there has only been one game like it for almost ten years i am very perplexed

except playing with made up characters isn't the fun.
But really, no other companies have enough platformers or enough console mascots.

Re: Why no SSB clone
except it would be fun because i never played SSB for the characters specially since the only games i had played when it came out were super mario 64 (and i kinda thought mario was a fag) and star fox which i didnt even know was in the game, i just thought the game looked cool
and more importantly it would sell

So Wii did
I found that the wii controls were a bunch of bullshit and went back to the gamecube controller. Although, it was a fun game(not a game that I could play every day, but it had it's moments).
And the reasons why there are no SSB "clones" is because there aren't that many "classic"(who the fuck is Lucus?) characters for any other gaming company. I mean, Nintendo has been around a long time, they have many awesome characters that people love(Like Mario, Samus, Link etc) and been playing since they were kids.
However, this is not the same for many other counsol gamers. They are relitivly "new" to gaming and usually don't have the foundest clue for anything that happened more than five minutes ago.
And honestly, SSB was made for kids(the newest being made for kids and old people) because it appeals to them. It is fun to watch your favorite characters duke it out in a brawl to determine who is the best(not really, but it's fun to think).
With the "new" generation of counsol gamers, it needs to be "blood, blood, gore, death, decapitation, and shooting the crap out of something". They wouldn't like a fighting in a cartoony game with cartoony characters without big boobs.
Saying such a thing will sell is technically true. It would be the same as Halo Wars. It would only launch because of the name(or characters in this case) and once people play it, they will realize they hate it.
I think you're a spy for Microsoft kslidz...

Think not. SSB was targeted at the kids of the late 80s like myself who grew up with these characters and platform games (now 16-25). The only reason there's not blood and etc is because it would be weird and really out of place. It was the last act of Nintendo to actually remember their fans.
Lucas, i think, was a bloke from Mothersomething-that's-maybe-world, same as Ness. I think it only got released in Japan.

That's what I meant. It was made for the kids of the generation of the good nintendo years.
The point was, "newer" gamers wouldn't like a game like that without boobs and/or shooting involved followed by blood.

I only play with Wiimote+nunchuk and I know a few others that do. Its far more conveniant and all the important buttons are given more attention than on the gamecubes cluttered controller.
