Why the hell did we allow for reunification?

Post by ReconToaster on Sat Jun 06, 2009 4:42 am

And why the hell did we get so pissed when the Soviets blockaded East Berlin and starved out its citizens?

Germany is at it again, now seeking to BAN THE PRODUCTION AND DISTRIBUTION of 'violent videogames' from the entire country: http://www.gamepolitics.com/2009/06/05/germany039s-interior-ministers-ask-bundestag-total-ban-violent-games

This kind of bullshit has been going on for some time now, after some psychopath shot up a school. Apparently... he played Counter-Strike. Ever since, the German government has been throwing legislation at the industry, because, you know, the guy can't have possibly had some sort of chemical imbalance (AKA PSYCHOSIS!)

As stated in the comments section, it would probably be a better Idea for the Germans to just label violent Videogame boxes with star-shaped yellow badges, just so we can be sure that consumers know they are 'undesirable.'

This is an outrage!!!

Fuck Germany!
Video Games don't push people to shoot up their school. It's their messed up brain.
I mean, I do get irritated when I have been on the computer for too long. It's not enough for me to go out and kill people.

Germany is definitely going to turn fascist again. It worked so well for them last time (and made so many lasting friends) I'm sure they'll give it another stab.

I would hate it if they were to ban violent games in my country, and I hope that the Germans banning them doesn't put pressure on other countries to do it, or encourage anti-gamers to speak out.

But, to be honest, video games are a major contributor to a few of the biggest rising problems. There are obvious ones like obesity, as people can now play a game of soccer with their friends without even leaving there house or even moving there feet. And the recession, if no one is speeding their moneyz on theme parks, traveling etc, and people are just staying home playing a good multiplayer game, they don't have to speed much money at all.

As it as stating before, there is also the: Go to school and kill everybody risk.
Of coarse not everyone is going to do that, and that the few who do obviously had something wrong with them, but would they have done it if they didn't have the video games, maybe they would have led a normal or even successful life otherwise. Are games the key that unlocks the killers inside?
Although you may not even realize it, things like video games work on a psychological level and doesn't effect much of us much or at all, but for people with mental problems they are much more effecting and persuaded by them. They play GTA IV and think it is great fun and that Nico is uber awesome so they do it them selfs, you may think that thins is stupid and no one would be that dumb, but people have done much stupider stuff. And with more people getting into video games there will be more people breaking down from playing a simple game, and more people crying out.
