PSP Go!

didn't find a thread on it. Yeah Sony's new Portable Handheld. The only platform on the market where there is no disk based medium, just software. Who's getting it? Discuss:

And a laptop costs more than a higher quality desktop PC. Portable systems cost more, and this is somewhat of an experimental project on Sony's part.

I'm willing to purchase it, and probably will, but I can't say I'm happy with the fact that they didn't buck up and make a completely new system, with a Touch screen and SECOND ANALOG STICK.

But alas, that's not how it is. I will buy this for the added media features, smaller size, and large storage capacity for full downloadable PSP games... which I will be getting in to.

Why can you never resist starting semantic arguments NT?

He means physical media, like cartridges, OR UMDs.

Sony's PSPGO will be the only fully digital, first class portable gaming system on the market as of yet.

I knew you'd say that. The Iphone is not a 'first class gaming device,' hence the reason I included that label in my previous post.

The Iphone is, first and foremost, a multimedia device, for video and music playback. It also has fun touch screen apps. As good as some of the games on it may be, it is not a dedicated gaming platform.

Dude, look at how the PSP is marketed!

the reason it was falling behind the DS in the first place was because people didn't really get what it was, since it was everything. whiel they could look at the DS and KNOW exactly what it was.

Poor marketing doesn't change the fact the the PSP is a portable gaming console with a bunch of media features.

Look at the 360. It can play DVDs, music, videos, and it has Netflix. And nobody's trying to pass it off as "first and formost a multimedia device." The 360 is marketed as a gaming console. The PSP is no different.
