making Clones is too expensive. It is easier to just use existing people

Re: Clones
Still, it should get cheaper as technology increase(and believe me it is and will at a exponential rate) So we could make a entire army out of one person!

Something similar was once said about airplanes.
Cloning can be very useful in the future, if the process is perfected, and it's really not as complicated as many people think.

New and expensive technologies become old and cheap technologies with time.

Re: Clones
I think the whole process is worth it just to clone velociraptors and see the resulting xkcd comic
You have to wonder how big the moral leap is between cloning people for say, scientific prowess compared to the super soldiers most people think of. So far it seems that there's none. If there's going to be cheap cloning they'll be right into war with no additional controversy. Then again I've not really heard it considered before. All we know is that we can blame George Lucas for one more shady futuristic moral dilemma and that's good enough for me...

Well, the problem with cloning super soldiers is then you leave regular soldiers without a job.
Unless you have a special military division for the clones.
And it's not like you can just use them as shock troopers, because then we have the same problem as we do using robots: they'll just turn on us.

Re: Clones
No.
They were flash cloned, and the flash clones were left with their families.
However, the flash clones quickly died of medical complications, which is why they couldn't be used as soldiers themselves.
EDIT: Also, they weren't shock troops, they were more like SpecOps.
They took casualties, but not a lot at once. Their numbers slowly dwindled over the course of 25 years.
