ALERT! Windows 7 pre-orders 58% off

Post by ReconToaster on Fri Jun 26, 2009 7:18 am

This has to be the greatest thing I've seen Microsoft do in a long time. Seriously, paying 150-200 dollars for an operating system is just ridiculous, and now you can buy Windows 7 for 50 bucks.

Anyways, HERE

I plan on buying it, but I just hope that there is a windows Vista aesthetic mode, or that somebody makes a skin for it, 'cause I have to say that I LOVE the way Vista looks, and the windows 7 aesthetic is a little blocky and mac-like.

Windows 7 looks exactly the same if not better than Vista, the start menu button glows. And the boot screen is epic

Well, I don't like the new toolbar stuff that segments everything into squares. It just looks blocky... but maybe it was just because the demo I saw was at a low resolution.

The start menu glows in Vista. The one in 7 has some sort of radiant animation, but it looks a little cheesy and... sort of like it's just a slightly transparent image pasted over the start button.

Anyways, I know it's a pretty good jump in performance, and I want moar ram, so I'm upgrading.

Windows 7 is basically like Vista service pack 2, the reason that its 50% off is because it should be a free update to fix their screwy products.

You didn't know about that?!

Deleting the system 32 folder is the best way too boost performance, I thought that was common knowledge.

Just to clarify, the Windows Home Premium Package (for $50) contains install discs for both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7 Operating Systems.

i'm buying a new PC with vista on it... so I get a free upgrade to windows 7 when it releases

my new comp is gonna eb so awesome (compared to this one at least) that I likely won't even notice the drop in how much memory it takes to actually run it
