Videogame Music

Post by Toaster on Tue Jun 30, 2009 11:43 pm

Post your favorite, and most memorable music from Videogames.

I'm formatting my post in the form of an awards ceremony, mainly to limit the amount I put up in the first post. You don't have to if you don't want to.

MOST EPIC THEME OF ANYTHING EVER GOES TO:

MOST FANTASTICALLY COMPELLING GOES TO:

MOST UNIQUE GOES TO:

never gets old...

MOST CLASSIC GOES TO:

MOST ATMOSPHERIC AND FITTING GOES TO:

MOST NOSTALGIC GOES TO:

Would be a certain theme from Starfox Adventures which I can't seem to find. That game was the entire focus of my life in third grade, and I played it somewhat recently only to find that it just couldn't hold my attention. I regret playing it again. It was seriously the focus of my life for quite some time. I used to go out into the woods and find a stick, and pretend I was Fox McCloud, and it was mah staff! I brought the manual to school and passed notes to my friends in the ancient Krazoan alphabet. Talk about nostalgia... I don't think I ever even came close to beating the damn game. I lost my memory card for it one day, and I cried. Once I worked my way back up to where I was, I went on to get stuck on some god damn button mashing sequence. It took me months to just give up on ever getting passed it.

GAME MUSIC THAT WILL NOT GET THE FUCK OUT OF YOUR HEAD GOES TO:

Hours of blowing shit up had this music stuck in my head 24/7

BEST FITTING NON-GAME MUSIC USED IN A GAME GOES TO:

I played it constantly, though I was almost ALWAYS using cheatcodes. That's how I learned to play the game, and it was just natural to me.

Still, for some reason it never really occured to me that I could just copy and paste the cheats. To this day, I can still type 'Cheese steak jimmy's' at near light-speed.

in the map editor is where I spent most of my days

I still think that my Gondor siege was pretty frakkin' awesome
I probably spent like 4 weeks working on it before I finally decided it was done

What about AoE1 I played that heaps back in the day, bofore I had even heard of HW. Although, to be honest, I never really liked AoE1 that much.

Since the Zelda stuff already got posted I'd say this is the most classic.
Oh and

= Greater than all. And yes toaster, I listened to your oblivion theme, it still doesn't compare.

As for Halo, One Final effort comes to mind, as does Reclaimer.
