Colony of the Crimson Flame
I was board. Enjoy.
Prologue
Pheonix reached for his mug of coffee as he inspected the holographic map in front of him. The warm liquid slid down his throat, still rough from all the commands he had been giving. His watch read 1:34 AM but now was not the time to rest, not until he had complete confidence in his course of action.
Seventy-six hundred hours ago, Pheonix and a group of less than two-hundred unequipped UNSC soldiers had stormed the phoenix-class colony ship, the Crimson Fall. The battle had been a complete success, with only six casualties. Since then, the Crimson Fall had remained in orbit of the planet Harmony and Pheonix had earned his name. Time was running out, though. Within just a few hours, the United Nations Space Command would arrive with a force large enough to obliterate the ill-equipped ship, and the entire crew with it. They didn’t take kind to rebels.
Pheonix tapped a green button on his chair and spoke, “Captain Qwerty, what is your situation.”
After a short pause, the small room came alive with Qwerty’s response. His voice was younger than Pheonix’s, but far more warn from use. “My Lord. Engines are running dark. Our slipspace drive is fully charged and waiting for your command. MAC at 50% firing capacity. All other weapons are offline, but fully functional. Sir, if I may, you picked one badass ship.”
A grin ran across Pheonix’s face for the first time since the operation began. “Thank you, Captain. I’ll contact you again when we’re ready to jump.”
“Acknowledged.”
A white flash appeared in the bottom left of Lord Pheonix’s screen and a video feed exploded onto the screen. A man in a sharp olive-green outfit stood in front of Pheonix, staring through the screen. Everything about the man was clean and exact. “Major Rotaretilbo?” The major gave a crisp salute in response. “At ease soldier. What is it?”
“Sir, we’ve just intercepted a message from UNSC high command to Harmony. A fleet is expected to arrive in less than three hours. It consists of three Mako-class cruisers.”
Pheonix’s grin disappeared. “Right. Ready your troops for ship-to-ship combat.”
“Sir. With all due respect, we’re completely outgunned. We don’t stand a chance. I sugg...”
“I’m well aware of our situation, Major. We still need to be prepared for a fight, just not here.”
“Sir?”
“Major, I have given you an order and I expect you to follow it.”
“Right away. Sorry sir.”
The video feed blinked off and the screen was once again filled with a grid of stars and planets. The major’s voice sounded over the intercom and the sound of rushing marine’s could be heard outside of Pheonix’s door. He didn’t like not telling his soldiers what they were up against, but the truth was that not even he knew what awaited them. Three hours was not enough time to sit around and guess at the possible results of his plan though, now was a time to act.
Pheonix pressed the green button on his seat once more. “Captain, let’s jump.”
“Sir, yes sir!”
Three screens materialized in front of Pheonix, depicting the planet and stars around him. Within seconds, the planet disappeared and all three screens turned black. They were in slipspace, headed to an area unknown to man, with a ship stolen from the UNSC, to possibly face the biggest threat anyone in this crew had ever seen. But Pheonix wasn’t worried.
He always had a plan.

Re: Colony of the Crimson Flame
Well, I liked the story, but since I'm not in it, I'll have to give it a -7/10.
My review could change though if I'm in it.

Re: Colony of the Crimson Flame
PiEman, you'll actually be a major role...
Just not in the prologue.

I didn't plan to put you in until chapter 2... and your importance won't come around until a ways in. Unlike my other stories, I somewhat thought this through.

Not going to rate until chapter 2 then.
Looks good though.

One more problem...
You're going to hate chapter 2

In that case.
5/10
You're not even in my slightly CF based story anyway.
