On the other hand, i think that it is quite necessary to see that people get locked up in prison for child pornography. I don't believe that counselling could ever get somebody away from something disgusting like that. Also when you say " self control", those people don't seem to have self control if they resort to something like that.

I just think that, seeing as they're not directly harming anyone, that a prison sentence, especially one of 25 years, just doesn't change anything. People will still be into that sort of thing. The only thing that might change is that their thoughts would be suppressed, and the fetish would grow into something much worse. I think counseling would be a better course of action.
