Prologue part 1
Wilmington, Delaware
United Republic of North America
September 16, 2803

Looking up Echo noticed a large ship above the city. “Well this is it” said Echo over is COM to the rest of Delta squad “Romeo get in that old church tower, Dare and Mickey set up on the left side of the street, Dutch and Rookie your with me on the Right”. Everyone started to run into position around the 2 square block area around the church, the highest point in the city for possibly 1,000 years or less, to set up a perimeter. Holding this position is important to holding the city and, because this raid has been confirmed to last for several weeks, evacuation for the civilians. “Rookie move” said Mickey pointing over to where Dutch was “I’m not in the mood to lose this position because of your negligence.” I remember when he was just a Rookie but then again SHE out ranks him thought Echo moving into position.
“Dare”
“Yes Chief” said Dare looking up at Echo
“Help Mickey with that Rocket ammo we only have a short time until the Brutes get here”
“Yes sir” and Dare moved and grabbed 2 cases of rockets and moved to over to there position. “Um…” said a voice next to Echo “yes Rookie” said Echo coming over to her
“What do you need Rookie”
“For one why dose everyone call me Rookie”
“Well its what you are a Rookie we don’t use our real names most of use have lost all memory of our homes and family that’s why I’m called Echo”
“Ok ECHO” said the Rookie in a kidding way and walked back over to where Dutch was with his M6 Laser based weapon. “Ok clips in safety off” Echo said to himself as his COM sprang to life “Sir” said Romeo over the COM “I got a large amount of Brutes and grunts with several Wraith tanks but there holding back”
“Understood Romeo fire when in range…”
“Artillery inbound” screamed Dutch over the COM
“Everyone get to cover!” said Echo over the COM as the first Wraith bomb hit the ground.

“Orders, Sir?” Dutch asked Echo as several brutes moved up the street.
“Hit the gold ones first,” replied Echo over the COM. “Romeo, when Dare makes contact with the navy, you’ll vector them in.”
“Yes sir,” said Romeo over the COM.
“Chief, I don’t think I can make contact. I’m getting to much chatter around the city,” said Dare.
“Keep trying, Dare. I know you can get through,” urged Echo, turning to shoot the leading brute. Super heated metal from the brutes’ main weapons, the spiker and brute shot, flew over their heads as they fired down the incline of the hill. A super heated slug from a spiker whizzed by Echo’s head as he came up from behind the sandbag.
“Close one there, wasn’t it?” said Dutch.
“Check your mouth, Dutch.”
“Okay, Sir.”
“Choppers coming up the road!” yelled Mickey over the COM.
“I’ll handle this,” said Echo, looking over the sandbags. “Dutch, watch the rookie.”
“Aye, sir!” said Dutch.
Echo quickly jumped over the sandbags and ran toward the closest chopper. Remember your training, thought Echo before he jumped up onto the closest one, reached onto one of the openings around the wheel, and quickly pulled out his M6C/SOCOM pistol and shot several rounds into the driver. He quickly did a side jump into the side of the driver’s seat and knocked the driver out, taking the vehicle under his control.
“Amazing,” said the rookie, looking over the sandbags.
“Kid, Echo dose that almost every battle,” said Dutch.
“I’m no kid as far as I can tell. We’re the same age!”
“Shut up and shoot and that’s an order!” shouted Dare over the COM.
Echo drove his captured chopper into the second chopper, sending both flying off the road, jumped out, and rolled as a large explosion followed them, crashing into a wall only a few meters away from the rookie and Dutch’s position. Running back up the hill, Echo heard his COM buzz with static. “Delta Squad, this is Gulf Squad. We are entering Wilmington from the north and we’ve brought light vehicle support. Do you read?” said the familiar voice of Gulf squad’s leader.
“This is Sierra-791 to Gulf lead. Is that you Nate?” replied Echo
“Sounds like I’m saving your butt again, Echo.”

Prologue Part 3

A Pelican Drop ship soon landed with one M12LRV “Warthog” and 4 soldiers walked out of the troop bay onto the damaged street.
“Looks like you guys took a beating” said Nate there squad leader.
“Were ok Nate but we needed the help” said Dare nodding here head at the Rookie.
“She’s new Dare you have to remember that” said Echo.
The Rookie was still over behind the sandbags looking down the road at the dead brutes and grunts. Dutch was still there as well but was checking his M6’s Charge.

Gulf Squad was made up of 4 “Operators” Nate, Squad Leader and Sniper he is better then Romeo at the Range but unlike Romeo used the BR-55HB instead of the SRS-99D; Frankie, Demolition Expert and all around joker of Gulf Squad; Pie, Gulfs Medic and Heavy weapons he’s saved almost all our lives at least once; and Brandon, there Driver

“Echo can you come over here” said Pie over giving the Rookie and Dutch a once over
“Yeah Pie” said Echo walking over
“Your recruit, has she been augmented yet?”
“No Pie she’s only been in the program 2 hours she hasn’t even been to our home yet”
“Ok Echo making sure, also can I look at you back?”
“Ok” said Echo turning around
“Thought so” said Pie as a sharp pain came threw Echo’s back and Pie showed him what he pulled out “Metal slug I don’t know why you keep going out of cover were not like our brethren in the Human Covenant War”
Echo gave a nod and when back over to talk with Nate, Dare and Frankie.
“… and that’s why Yankee won’t be here in time” said Nate as Echo walked back over
“Well” Said Frankie “the Delaware National Guard will be here soon”
“Yes” said Echo “but we need the Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey Air National Guards to help hold the city”
“Right well” said Nate “I’ll have Frankie set up his tube over with you, Dutch and the Rook, me and Brandon take the warthog and block the road with is and set up behind it, and Pie will go over with Dare and Mickey, does that sound good Echo?”
“Yes that should allow us to hold until the Guard arrives”
“Alright then” Nate then went off to get his squad into positions
Echo’s COM when to like with the voice of a man possibly WPD “This is Pelican Seven-Five we have been hit and are…” the come then when to static and looked out in the distance and zoomed in on a WPD Pelican that was trailing smoke.
