Part 4

A ringing sound started in Echo’s ear as a wraith shell landed in front him and thrown him into the warthog.
“Is he all right?” asked the Rookie over the COM
“Rookie, Echo’s always all right I mean he has already been hit today” said Pie preparing his AIE-486H Machine Gun.
Echo quickly got up and ran back to where the Rookie and Dutch were, pulled out a Magazine of ammo, banged it agents his head to make sure it was full, and loaded it. Another shell blew up a few yards away from the warthog. Nate got up and ran for the shell crater and called over to Pie over the COM “Pie fallow me and set up the MG in the crater”
“Yes sir!” said pie picking up the MG and bringing it over to the crater
After a few more minutes the shelling stopped and a second wave of Brutes started running up the road. “Light them up!” yelled Nate over the COM and instantly the rest of Gulf started firing down the street. “You heard him Delta” said Echo starting to fire his Assault Rifle down range and the rest of his squad did, except the Rookie. Echo’s COM soon buzzed to life coming from Romeo
“Chef I got a Brute Chieftain coming up the road” said Romeo
“I will handle him, cover me!” said Echo
“Echo that’s suicide why would you…” said Dare soon being cut off by Echo
“I’m doing what must be done.”
Echo jumped over the sandbags and charged the Chieftain, getting a clip of his Assault Rifle ammo into the Chieftain before hitting a melee into his shields but the Chieftain picked him up. “Ah a demon I shall be remembered for this” said the Chieftain looking into his face. Echo’s COM came to life again but this time the voice was different and had more static then his squad. “This is Commander Miller of the 111th Attack VTOL Squadron we are entering your airspace at this time.”
After that the Brute threw Echo into the air and swung his hammer Echo heard a quick “no!” over his COM but was soon sent flying into the warthog. Looking up Echo saw 2 Hornets with the “PA” abbreviation on the tail which is the abbreviation for the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. Out of the corner of his eye Echo saw Pie run over and give him a once over, but said something he couldn’t hear because his eardrums were blown out by the hammer. What Echo could tell was a Pelican had landed and he was being loaded onto it. He recognized the crew chiefs face this meant it was Charlie 56 “Mohawk” Deltas air support and transport on behind the lines missions. The bay door soon closed, and everyone from Gulf and Delta was there, the mission was over and Echo could rest until there back abroad the Prosecutor.
