So what? Well... LA Times says that they know what it is: a Halo anime called "Halo Legends".

Judging by the provided pictures below, I say it's a hoax. They both seem to be entirely different art styles (though both are clearly anime), in first MC's visor goes out much further than the second, and I doubt Bungie would ever stoop to spartans driving x-fighters without cockpits through space. But, still.....
