Houston, we have a problem

Post by Ringleader on Fri Jul 24, 2009 7:20 pm

Well, my Xbox 360 finally conked out, apparently the one red light means that it has some kind of hardware failure that has nothing to do with the hard drive thank god.

I need advice on what to do with it now, I'm pretty sure its been more then one year since I bought it, and other then that its seems to have been slooooooowing down (load times, and such) in the weeks prior to its fatal occurrence.

Buy a new one from costco (with warranty if necessary), put your old one in the new box, take it back and tell them that the old one is the new one and it was broken, hold the cashier at gunpoint when he doesn't believe you, take the money and run.

Yesh, me too, I tried the wires, and I unplugged my hard drive as they said to on the support page.

I tried all you can do by yourself, and now I'm just going to go on this page and see what M$ can offer me.

Just call them and get them to send you a box so you can send it in to HQ and get it repaired for $100. Or risk breaking your xbox with a home repair kit (we tried that and broke our xbox, so be careful).

I'm not paying a cent for their phony baloney "make multiple lump sums on a single unit" schemes.

They clearly manufacture these devices specifically not to last forever.

I've had mine since launch and it still works like a beauty - what the hell do you people do to them?
