Stronghold Crusader

Caliph is annoying as ***, but not too hard to stop.

Guys, is it worth the trouble to post unit - counter unit and stuff like that?

Well you could, but to be honest, all I ever do is, after getting my economy up to RIDICULOUS scale, just start pumping out horseback knights, pikemen, occasional archers, and siege equipment, and just steam-roll the enemy.

I'm not too focused on strategy with Crusader.

Steamrolling works just fine against AI's, its what I do against em too. I dont normally get knights though... I like to use Crossbows in defense, archers and macemen in the field as skirmishers(to harass/disrupt/destroy enemy industry/food production) and Swordsmen/Pikemen as my main assault force.

Alot of times I also use Crossbows during sieges; I take out the towers and places with units then more my crossbows so they can hit anything that comes out of the gates. Then I bombard the inside of the castle to hell(or burn it to hell, either way works) before launching my main assault.



One thing I wish they had in crusader were custom troops(you KNOW you want a horseback soldier in metal armor with a crossbow and sword) and a sort of meta map war/something of the sort. Its hard to explain.

I had it. I liked it... For the record, I'm still gone. I just happen to to have access to the site from my phone.

one time I was screwing around so I put on double rations and bought food from the market (got the multiple kinds of food bonus too) and surprisingly I made money and was still able to field a large army
(I hit the unit cap a lot on that one)

to be fair it was against the computer and I didn't start doing it until I was a bit secure, but still.... it was cool

I normally dont ahve problems with food, which I find amazing since my populationn is normally well over 200
