Napoleon Total War

Post by Dud Doodoo on Wed Aug 19, 2009 8:14 pm

I suppose it was expected.

So far no real information except that it has 3 campaigns; Italy, Egypt, and Europe. I don't really care about the campaigns tbh I, along with just about everyone else I know, only cares about the sandbox world domination campaign.

I've never bought any expansion pack for this game series apart from the first one, which I used because the disc was broken and never played the campaign. Are they good?

Oh, you poor, poor man. This is not an 'expansion.'

No, this is a full fledged title that will cost $50. Good going Creative Assembly / Sega.

I'm really starting to lose faith in the Game Industry.

Empire Total War had so many issues that could have been fixed. It was a rushed game and they pledged to patch it well and introduce additional features with future updates including a multiplayer campaign.

Instead they ditched the patching and just spammed DLC that added nothing to the game.

Now, less than a full year later they are releasing the second game on the engine. Less than a year later they are already releasing another game, which almost guarentees it will be rushed, just like Empire. Sadly they will most likely abandon this release as well and move on to DLC and the next title.

CA used to be good.

I thought you liked the Empire game.

Me? I tried it again and didn't like it. I found it lacked real building customization and suffered from a lack of troops.

The instant (although it took two turns to do so) unit repairification made the game far too easy for whoever won the battle.

Also I didn't like the inability to capture people. I know it's not really fitting of the time but I'm throwing it in anyway.

Trade routes were cool though.

Besides, why play ETW and pay 50 bucks when I can download the ETW like mod for RTW or MTW2 for free?
