Image Lag in the Chatbox

Okay, I'm tired of people complaining about the Chatbox being lagged just because images have been posted. I've heard many times that the Chatbox cannot handle images, but this is not true. I use two computers, and the Chatbox does not lag on either, so let's try to hunt down this problem. One of my computers is using Windows XP and and the other one is using Windows Vista, so it's not the operating system, unless you are using a MAC or a Linux, which I can't test because I don't own either. Both of my computers use Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3.5.2, the latest version of each, so lets look farther into this. One problem could be that you are still using an outdated version of Internet Explorer or Firefox, another problem could be that you are using Google Chrome, Safari, or Opera. I do not have any of those three browsers and I will make sure to download and test them later, but for right now I'll mark them as a possible problem. If I'm not mistaken, the Chatbox runs of of Javascript, and both my computers have all the Java Updates, which may be a problem, if you experience lag from posted images you may need to get a Java Update. Now, the final thing to cover is age, one of my computers was built in the year 2000 and the other in 2008, so it can't possibly be age. Now let's make a list of possible problems, but I am sure there will be many more added in the future.

• You are using Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Millenium, or Windows 2000.

• You are using a MAC or a Linux.

• Your browser version is outdated.

• You are using Google Chrome, Safari, or Opera.

• You do not have the latest Java Update.

Solution: Don't post big images in the CB.

It's not a hard rule to follow.

Images are awesome, they can be funny and useful, but most people never click on links. If there is a way to post pictures in the Chatbox so it doesn't lag anyone, I'm going to find it.

Are you sure that absolutely no lag is created when an image is posted?

Seriously its not that hard to post a link to the picture.

That is not a solution, that is excepting the problem. Also, That is by no means a wall.

They won't know what it is until they click. Most of them are afraid of being rick rolled or something like that anyway.

It still won't tell you what the image is, it only tells you what the URL is.

Its not a hard rule to follow.... if you dont want to follow the rules you will get banned from the CB

Would you stop saying that? I would like to find a way to stop the lag, if there isn't one, then I will follow the "rules".

I use a Mac, and I'm perfectly fine.

What is wrong with links LH?

Lag isn't always the problem, its mainly annoying to other users.
