A New Sonic Game *sigh*

with this game i believe that it has a chance to be good and bring back the good memories of sonic yet at the same time all the confidence that i had with that franchise has been drained so in conclusion i hope for the best but i expect the worst.

I was thinking the same thing, they did say "from the ground up", heck it may turn out to be like Gears 2, which was built from the underground up, with all the little rock worms and dock worms and such.

no... the fact that we're capable of rendering 3 Dimensions does not mean that we always should. Sonic fans have been asking for a new, 2-D Sonic game for a long time. Sega is FINALLY giving them what they want.

That said... I loved Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. I wasted away many hours in the Chao Garden.

RL what are you talking about... Gears 2 wasn't built from the ground up

Gears 2 uses the Unreal 3 engine, the same as Gears 1.... just modified a bit

That is what i believe to be the last good sonic game and chao garden was really fun i had both the demon chao and the angel chao FTW

I never really got into sonic. I've played only two or three games, and only beat one of them.

Also do not criticize this game for being 2D some of the greatest games ever made were made in 2D.

They are not taking a step backwards well actually they kinda are but not in a bad way they are more of less returning to their roots and are most likely gonna try to rebuild the franchise from there.

2D is actually one of the biggest growing game styles...

the advent of flash has brought demand for 2d up a LOT... especially in the professional areas...

for main stream games however... its kinda an odd descision

Sega should just drop Sonic and give it to the Indy game designers.
