This mod is fucking awesome. I finished it like a 2 hours ago and I still awe at its magnificence.

Yeah, it's great fun. This is why HL2 > Halo because of all the mods.

Nice logic. Let's all judge games by what the game doesn't have....

Um...I don't know about you, Angatar, but judging two games by something one game has that another does not have is a completely valid method. Sounds like you're just butthurt because Half-Life kicks ass.

As for R&D, while short and sometimes a touch confusing, it was definitely a good mod. I wasn't a fan of those scenes where the camera would pan back to watch you jump the ramp, and I found that having many of the props static wasn't as fun as it could have been, but overall, it was definitely extremely creative. I really enjoyed solving physics problems with the torso zombie. Very Happy

I would think it has more to do with the Valve being much friendlier to the modding community than Bungie, since they hardly have a modding community to begin with.

Please, enlighten me...
How the Fing hell are you supposed to do a decent mod on an Xbox game?

Mods are an active and healthy part of the gaming community. If you aren't BUILDING mods, you can at least PLAY mods.

That still doesn't change the fact that most pro modders either have no life or little of a life, but they are very helpful.

You do realize you can make a mod in about 3 minutes, that doesn't include the 5 minute loading times.

Remember, we're talking about stuff like Counter Strike, Team Fortress, Maps for existing games, entirely new single-player experiences running off of Source Engine, Gmod, Black Mesa Source, ect....

We're talking about mods that actually take a good deal of effort to put together. Just look at this thing! (In HD)

There are many things that make it difficult, like the need to hack your xbox and to download special software, but Bungie's policy of deleting and banning the accounts of modders certainly isn't helping.

Valve, on the other hand, Endorses them, and gives them tools to more efficiently do their stuff.
