Modern Warfare 2 to NOT support Dedicated servers

The PC community is pretty outraged about this right now. Modern Warfare 2 on PC will not support dedicated servers. Players will be forced to play on official IW.net servers, which work much like xbox live. Players will be able to do matchmaking and private matches... but there will be no clan servers, or custom content.

This really is... dirty. Dedicated servers are what defines PC multiplayer gaming. Running this system will obviously be MUCH more costly for Activision. The only reason I can think of as to why they would take away dedicated servers is to keep gamers from having a good time with custom content, so that Activision can make us PAY for DLC.

The podcast where this was all revealed can be found here (start at 1 hour and 40 minutes). This is pretty disappointing. The consolization of the PC continues.

Wow that really to bad for PC gamers.

That was one of the reasons why I liked COD4 on PC cause one time I played it over at a buddys house and they made servers where if you used things like juggernaut, M16 with stopping power, last stand etc etc. Then you where kicked from the game.

That! Is awesome to me. So now there's none of that for MW2 on PC? Damn. That. Sucks.

Yeah, the only GH game I still want is Metallica. But other then that, I'm going the way of Rock Band.
