How does that have anything to do with facebook only being on gold? Microsoft is ripping people off with this update, that's what noc is complaining about.

Netflix has no licensing to provide business outside of the US and Canada, so XBL can't make it so.

All of the services that are available in NZ and other countries (like facebook and twitter) also have to be licensed to Microsoft in all the countries.

It could be facebook and the like are charging too much for countries at a rate that microsoft can't see being realistically returned by working on the service.

Well, it is pretty obvious that they cannot just make it accessible to all countries, that is like saying that all a Free-to-air TV station needs to do to air a relatively new movie is go down to a video store and rent it for the night. There is a lot more to it like.

Then an update shouldn't be advertised as something that is a part of the service, and something that you will get for your money if it isn't.
It was on the front of the Xbox 360 NZ website for ages, with the "connect to Facebook, twitter, etc on your 360!"
