Indeed Ziggy you seem to be quite the literary expert. Although I feel the need to correct some misconceptions within you statement. 1984 is an allegory for all totalitarian states and a warning on the powers of technology to infringe our rights. Quite a good novel and ground breaking at the time yet it's insights are at times rudimentary and it is memorable more for it's imagery and detail then its radical views. A more worthwhile reading on the subject would include Leviathan by Hobbes and On Liberty by Mills. That said this is gaming forum not a literary forum so kudos to you for bring it up. gw
