Can Rabbits see out the sides of their heads?
Ok this is probably stupid but bare with me here. Ok a rabbit's eyes are on the sides of their heads right? So does that mean that they can see clearly from the sides of their heads as well as being able to see ahead and some of whats behind them? (except to them seeing behind them would be the same as our peripheral (sp?) vision?)
I dont know it kinda makes sense to me since almost everything considers them to be prey, so wouldnt it make sense to give them a wide field of vision?

Well.... I wouldn't know but think about it practically. If you have eyes on the side of your head, where would you have vision? I'd think it to be peripherally.

Coming from someone who had to suffer through 4-H.
Rabbits can see in 360. At least most can. Front and back is kinda peripheral unless they're looking straight ahead with both eyes.
So, yeah, that's why they're so hard to sneak up on.

That wasn't exactly necessary.
Can you imagine seeing in full 360. How awesome would that be!

YEs. Predators have eyes on the front of their head, prey have eyes on the side of their head.
Deer, mice, wolves, tigers, the rule is pretty global.

Hammersharks have radars. Which means they're haxors.

I'd note that most fish, predator or prey, have eyes on the side, not just hammerhead sharks, because fish rely less on sight as they do other senses.
