Re: Dead space 2

The main problem with DS1 for me was after the inital few chapters, they had basically shown you all the tricks the game had, so it became really easy for me to know where and when the Necromorphs would be.

Bascially, if you see a vent, or a pile of bodies on the floor , expect Necromorphs.

I do hope this game does enough to mix up their bag of tricks to try to keep at least some tension. The Dementia visions are a good idea to do this if there consistent and unexpected.

The MP is alot better than I expected and the campaign is amazing, I'm in love with this game Very Happy It was alot more than I expected. Theirs also a DLC coming out soon that involves lexine and gabe weller on the sprawl, also those suit DLC packs are great deals you get 2-3 suits per pack and 3-9 weapons depending on the pack.

That's good Very Happy The multiplayer has a few game breaking glitches that reared their ugly head to me yesterday. On the maps Fuel core and Solar array if you pick up the pieces immediately then they disappear and your team automatically loses since theirs no objective to restart the clock. Though this only happens occasionally it's pretty damn annoying. Besides the little things that visceral could easily fix, this multiplayer is good if you have a team behind your back and work together.

i would like it if the multiplayer was a tiny bit slower. It's almost too fast to take advantage of the atmosphere.

I was hoping it would be slower like L4D and give humans only 1 life

Care to explain why?

I've gone through it, and it was exactly what I thought it would be: More Dead Space. It got slightly more jumps from me than the original, and near the end they do pour on the amount of enemies on you.

The only thing I didn't like it's a heavily scripted game, with a lot of insta-kill quick-time moments, which if you aren't expecting them, cause you die and have to go do it again, as you didn't have time to react.

The original had a few of these with the tenacles that would grab you, but you had about 2-3 tries before you died, this is a lot less forgiving and it did get a little annoying.

Other than that, it was a good way to start the year off.

Just beat the game. Love it. But...

Spoiler:
I just wish that they had more boss battles or at least have new ones for the existing ones. I mean they don't have that many to begin with so some new Necromorph giants or creatures isn't too much to ask for. The new ones we did get were great. But fighting the Tripod and the brute and the flower pod thing more then once get's to be a little boring but not really if that makes any sence. Basically, I wish they didn't recycle bosses.

Final boss was cool but wish they're was like a 2nd form. You basically just fight a bunch of the Pack, your dead GF and a giant beating heart of the marker. A little on the meh said. I still like it and really enjoyed playing it. But a 2nd more badass giant Necromorph would have been much apreciated. Hell, I would have been fine with a fight with a giant Necro attached to the station using the Gunship your in to fight it. It's called gunship for a reason.

Anyways, final thoughts; Great game. Love it. Will give it a 2nd playthrough just for the hell of it and maybe some easy achivements that I missed. But just wished they had more boss battles with variety . Other then that, great game.

Not gonna lie either, Multiplayer's not that bad. I probably will not be playing it after a short while but still. For what it's worth, it's not bad. Not bad at all. The only thing I would ask for from this mode is a Nazi Zombies like mode for up to 4-5 people. I would have loved that. They could have made it their own with hacking to get to next areas, have teammates deffend you. Hack machines and use credits to purchase guns and stasis at the store. Whatever, I think it would have been cool. I would'a played it. Even if for only a short gaming while.

Spoiler:
The final boss fight can be really hard if your not careful or if your on a higher difficulty with little health. Nicole is never the problem, it's usually the advanced pack since they can do massive amount of damage and surround you at first. You can always kite them but you have to watch out for nicole when you do that. It's funny at the end how Isaac looks over at Elie, she's like "What?" it's a reference to the first game and it's pretty funny.
One thing that I didn't like about the second one is that it seems that they didn't use enough lighting effects for me, and the way the light reacted to your armor in the first was awesome but it doesn't have the same feeling in the second one.

The multiplayer is only really fun when you have a team behind you that you know or can talk to. So always try to assemble a group to play with before you go in to MP or you might just get raped and dislike the games MP.

I was just kidding. Just trying to piss Death off. But I liked this one more than the first. Like you said, it was a great way to start the year. And a great way to keep me occupied until Homefront.

HARDCORE ANNOYS ME.

Made it to chapter 9, then died and went back to the end of Chapter 5.

Will try again, as the Hand cannon is worth it.

Oh and the Contact beam's secondary fully upgraded with the special RAPES the force gun at crowd control.

Force Gun fires a wave that pushes enemies back in front of you and kills in two shots.

Contact Beam fires a 360 radial blast that puts all nearby enemies in stasis and kills all but the black necromorphs in 1 shot (It kills them in 2)

It's more cost efficent, more deadly and gets the job done faster.

Oh and I finish Hardcore Tomorrow, take that you necromorph loving unitologist lunatic. Razz

Sounds excellent with DS2. Surround sound and built in subwoofer. It may be expensive but I highly recomment it, its worth the money. Strategy games, horror games, movies, and music sound great on it.

Sooo....is hardcore mode actually challenging unlike in DS1?
