Infractions

Post by KrAzY on Tue Dec 08, 2009 1:52 am

i'm sick of the fighting and spam

SOOOOO

Beginning immediately is the infraction policy.

an infraction will be issued for continued spamming, fighting, or any disobedient behavior after being told to stop by a mod or group of fellow minions.

after 3 infractions you will be given a 24 hour ban

after 5 infractions you will be given a 48 hour ban

after 10 infractions you will be given a 7 day ban

god help you if you get more than 10 infractions

Chat box infractions

3 - 2 day ban from chatbox
5- 7 day ban from chatbox
10- perma ban from chat box AND 24 hour suspension from website

the count resets each month, good deeds can un-infract you...

if you ask for another member to be infracted... or be a "tattle tale" to try and get someone banned... you will be infracted

this forum is pretty laid back... so if you have done enough to get an infraction than you should pretty much know that you've done something wrong.... try to keep things from getting out of hand.

have a nice day

And how will you keep track of these infractions?

It doesn't say anything about not arguing. If you want a debate, fine, but insulting taking turns insulting each other is not a debate.

I dunno, what Krazy has planned, but i see it that each mod keeps a personal tally, or we keep a group one in the mod section.

Here's another thing, does LP know much about this?

Wouldn't you need his permission to do this sort of thing?

I would like to add that the CB is on infraction rule now too...

asking to be unbanned in the CB will now result in a CB infraction... this includes PM's , *coff* lax *uncoff*

its okay to PM if you are still banned after your punishment should be up

mods... please mark down infractions in the mod section

Then shouldn't I be unbanned (for the second time today) since I was given no warning this time, what so ever, and was banned for retaliating to Bilco calling me a fag.

What?

Okay, here's what happened.

I came into the CB, and said that the mods were getting squemish about cussing (jokingly) and said that the last 4 generations of my family have either been in the Navy or sons of sailors in the navy.
Bilco said (something to the effect to): "Well now we have proof that PiE is a fag"
I said: "That's nice Bilco, now go run along and drink some tea.
Then I was banned.

In drastic times, drastic measures are called for.

Good to see a bit of a crackdown on the way. It was getting a little out of hand.

Re: Infractions

Post by Ziggy on Tue Dec 08, 2009 11:35 am

Honestly, these sorts of systems deter members, and cause the frequenters to grow tired and bored of communities incredibly quickly. Considering that a lot of people here aren't afraid to voice their opinions against a matter, an incredibly strong and valuable attribute might I add, keeping this infraction scheme will only cause more issues than it solves.

One of the communities that I was a part of for at least 2 years has pretty much adopted a system similar to this, and is incredibly strict about it. The only reason why the community hasn't crumbled entirely is that people there are slaves to the senior admins and are too afraid to actually speak out. For me, unfortunately, I'm not afraid of protesting and as such I was pretty much permanantly banned for trying to fight the system. I'm 100% certain a lot of members would leave if it got to a stage like that here, which I fear it might.

People need to just show a little bit more self-control and not be so quick to insult somebody, and this infraction system needs to be abolished.

tldr: Infraction systems lead the way to shitty dictatorship-esque forums that nobody will enjoy whatsoever, ultimately leading to the death of the community, or departure of the main contributors.
