Did Bioware steal an idea from Star Wars?

Post by Nocbl2 on Thu Dec 31, 2009 1:35 am

This is a picture of a sub character from Star Wars Episode II. His name is Dex.

You all know who this is! Wrex! From MEI, ya know? Yeah, yeah w/e...

So, to the point: They look very similar and have very similar names. (Well, the Dex in the movie looks like Wrex... I'll try and find a better pic later) Did Bioware steal the Krogan face from Lucasarts?

Sure, games borrow ideas from movies all the time...

Dex->Wrex

MW2's story was COMPLETELY and UTTERLY copied from a movie (unfortunately I cant remember the name) even down to the smallest details, like that black trooper running with the two green flares.

Is it me or does Wrex look 10x less detailed and 10x lamer then the original now in ME2?

Well Dud, I don't think it was something he really had a discrepancy with in the first place...

I believe Bioware MADE a Star Wars game and even created one of those creatures in it.

You mean the greatest Star Wars game of all time known as Star Wars:Knights of the Old Republic.

The Call of Duty games are supposed to pay homage to movies though.

They clearly quote several movie lines in the first Modern Warfare, ("I like to keep this handy for close encounters") and apparently (I haven't played them enough) the earlier Call of Duty games have plots and scenes closely based off WW2 movies.
