Oh, and btw, I do in fact know that an earthquake near the ocean will cause a tsunami.

The earthquake was an 8.8, which was higher then the one in Haiti, and the earthquake probably had something to do with the Tsunami, as was the case in that earthquake Tsunami that hit Indonesia.

The Tsunami hit the Easter Islands especially.

I saw it on CNN, and when the dipshit anchor wasn't interrupting someone, a meteorologist explained the Chile quake caused tsunamis everywhere in the Pacific.
