Well

I can think of a few ideas for a racing game...

I think Simpsons Road Rage was a great "racing game" (more of a car game really...)

Actually, there's quite a bit you can do with racing games... they just don't do them. Look at games like JSRF or even Sonic.

Racing, music, and sports games... I feel like once I own one or two, I have them all.

That can be said about any game genre. Not just those you listed.

But in other games, there are multiple ways to go about winning, even if the goal is always the same. I suppose sports is like that too, but not music and racing.

If racing games is what were talking about here, they do that too.

Example: Burnout Paradise. When you race, you can either take the basic way and do noting else to get there or there is multiple shortcuts and ways to get to the finnish. And even then you can takedown others players or force them to crash into something.
Same goal, multiple ways of acomplishing.

There's one game mode that I like that is called Cops and Robbers. Some people are cops some are robbers. The cops need to get the gold that's in the open city before the robbers do and take it back to your HQ. And vice-versa.

Now correct me if I'm wrong Civ but your trying to say that all racing games are the same. And I just want to make the point, that is not necessarily true.

Yeah this game looks pretty good, but I just dont understand why youre so excited for it, Rock. Haha. I dont think I'll buy it, considering there are better racing games AND I already own Mario Kart Wii (which is probably far superior and has more personality).

You know I get the feeling you guys think I'm waiting in a tent outside GameStop right now waiting for the game. No, that is not the case. I just think the game looks good. A racing game that looks to finally take some gameplay style from my fav racer Mario Kart. Sign me up.

Plus, it's also the fact that I'm getting sick and tired of just playing shooters all day. So I need someting new. And I like racing games so, why not? I probably won't buy it day one or anything I just thought it was a good looking game.

We've gone over this so much Tyfighter. Our gaming agenda is plaqued with shooters. Well, mine is. At least you have your Wii. All I have is my RTS's and Racers and I can't even have any hype for a racer says the people here on TCF. Razz jk.

[your sig is amazing Ty]

You can have some hype.

But like you said, it takes gameplay style from Mario Kart. This just looks like a glorified mario kart.

Anysways, quote me where I said it was better. Oh wait, you can't because I never said that.

Mario Kart is forever my fav racer of all time.

Oh okay that was just a joke, no need to get semi-defensive on me.

I suppose you didn't, but now i'll question why you would want another racing game just like Mario Kart when you already own mario kart.

I would question you that, but it doesn't matter, so don't answer it.

Sorry I jumped at ya. I put a silly face. Razz but no end sarcastic...whoops.

Anyways. No I'll answear it. It actually quite simple.

Well first off, I actually don't own Mario Kart Wii. The Wii I have right now is a friends who left it over here for a while. But I have played and owned several Mario Karts etc etc. Besdies the point, but even if Blur is a good/great racing game and does really well etc, I'll still remember Mario Kart as the best. I'll still feel the same way I do now. Mario Kart is fav and racer's would not be where they are today with out our italian plumbmer who rides go-karts with his friends and enemys while throwing banana's and bombs at each other.

So believe me. I'm just looking forward to a simple racing game. Not replacing Mario Kart at the thrown of king of racers or anything. This is all just a simple gamer looking forward to a simple game. Nothing more, nothing less. Please don't try and making it into anything else. All my responces in here where just trying to deffend a point.

That's all.

The only racing games i own are Burnout 3 and Gran Tourismo (?) 2. The former being an epitome of awesomeness and the second sucking so much ass.

I also *had* Mario Kart 64, which was a very fun racing game.

I'm not a great fan of racing games, but I have to agree with Rock.

I've played Crash Team Racing, Grand Tourismo and PGR3.

None of those game were the same. While GT and PGR3 were similar, the way they went about it were different.

Mario kart is too easy and slow going.

This game seems to be more speedy, but still has that arcady style.
