Somali Pirates (Arrrgh!)

Appearently, Somali Pirates will attack anything in hopes to take it over. This incident, however, is downright, as Cmdr. John Harbour called it, a "rather silly mistake."

and 3 of the 4 Iowa-class Battleships are now historical sites, they arent comming back, ever, in all time, and William L. Mitchell proved that battleships are obsoleat, take it up with him if you want to

I was going to say put a battleship there. I believe the Iowas are still on the roster. In a war im sure they would be them back into service. Plus even if they are obsolete one they would scar the hell out of pirates

exactly just use them as a "scarecrow" of sorts and no pirates will be seen within miles of our merchant ships, and if we dont use battleships just use crusiers =/

The Iowa-class Battleships can be fitted and ready for service in under 2 weeks.

As others have said, I believe they should be brought back as an intimidation factor.

As Mereel has said, the battleship is not the strongest force anymore. This dates back to WWII, but the Iowa's have proven to still be effective. The USS Wisconsin was used in the Gulf War for tactical support.

we just need to put 2 or three fast attack subs in the gulf and use them a couple of times with deadly force


although bringing a few battleships out of the graveyard and putting them ther would work too :\

Are you kidding me? How are subs more fun than battleships?

subs have a suprise factor.. you can see battleships from miles off

once again, the USN can only intervean(sp) if its a US ship under attack

also i think they use ships that cant be hit by torps(?)

Yeah, the Pirates use very small ships. It would be like using a Minuteman missile to blow up an outhouse.

Best to just patrol with Predator drones...

Good idea. I defiantly think 16" shells are more intimidating then torpedoes
