Do you sneeze when you look at the sun?
For as long as I can remember, over-exposure to light (especially sunlight,) has often caused me to sneeze. Growing up, I always assumed this was something that everybody experiences. A while back, I was informed that... it isn't.
Turns out... light-induced sneezing, or Photic Sneeze Reflex, is something which only affects 18-35% of people. It has something to do with the over-stimulation of some optic nerve. Apparently it is a hereditary trait.
Anyway, I've asked plenty of people (outside of my family. Most of them have it...) and they all respond with something along the lines of "Sneeze when I look at the sun? What the hell are you talking about?"
So I was wondering... do you sneeze when you look at the sun?

its not a joke... a lot of people, generally those with light-colored eyes, sneeze when they step from a dark area into bright light

I do this, though I have brown-ish eyes, and it isn't really consistent (maybe because brightness difference isn't?).
I mostly notice it on sunny days where the snow is still on the ground reflecting it all back, or when I actually look at the sun.

Re: Do you sneeze when you look at the sun?
I always used to think that I was odd because my right shoulder could pop out of the joint. I thought this was odd, because my left couldn't. I figured for everyone else, both their shoulders could come out of socket the way mine did. I was quite happy when my left shoulder finally started to pop out. Then I found out that the opposite was true, that it was weird and, to most people, rather sickening, that my shoulders could pop out of socket.

Huh.
Well, this has never happened to me, and this is the first I've heard of it.

I do.
But my eyes are not light colored. They actually still change color from yellowish brown, to green brown, to bluish brown. One my eyes were a bunch of different colors, twas pretty cool.

Yeah, it happens to me. In fact, I often find it hard to stare at a clear blue sky without sneezing.
