Wonderful. Please god don't kill them like you did every single bit of talented developers that have worked with them.

Bungie are going to get destroyed.

Though one part of the agreement gave me faint hope

'Under the terms of the agreement, Activision will have exclusive, worldwide rights to publish and distribute all future Bungie games based on the new intellectual property on multiple platforms and devices. Bungie remains an independent company and will continue to own their intellectual property. Additional terms of the agreement were not disclosed.'

Valve does get help from EA for marketing and distributing for consoles.

Indeed. While EA and Activision love to destroy companies that they own, there are developers who have managed to utilize their services without leting themselves get sucked in.

Though I've scrolled around the internet and Bungie's own forums.

People are pissed.

What worries me is that IW was originally independent and signed a publisihing deal with Activision, and after the success they had, they then were bought out and the rest is history.

Bungie's a big boy, but Activison is the largest publisher in the business. A few games down the line, I worried they'll make their move and we'll watch as another AAA developer gets crushed under activison's heel.

Lets hope they can get out of the contract before that happens.... but in the end I bet Bungie will be used and then discarded by Activision

Now that son of a bitch owns IW AND Bungie? It would seem that Activision has gained exclusive control of the entire world's adolescent population.

Meh.
Activision technically owns Blizzard, and it hasn't affected StarCraft II...

True, but their record precedes them. Neversoft, Raven Software, Infinity Ward, Harmonix, Red Octane. And so on.

This might help the concerns

They're as concerned as you are, and made it very clear to them.

Looks like after M$, Bungie made sure that their publisher is just that: a publisher. Not a co-designer, not an owner, just someone that mass produces their product.
