Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops

Post by Ruski on Sat Aug 14, 2010 1:54 pm

I got this from the CoD wiki article on Black Ops:

Vehicles will return, but they will be very different than those in Call of Duty: World at War.

Black Ops will feature a dedicated co-op campaign, supporting up to four players, which uses different levels than the singleplayer campaign. When Treyarch's Community Manager was asked about zombies in an interview, they stated that they could not talk about the co-op campaign, with a cheesy grin on his face and drinking a lot of water, hinting that it could be a zombie campaign.

Treyarch is considering releasing a beta-build test, and has hinted that it is likely.

Matchmaking is being changed so that it is easier for friends to play together.

Some campaign levels will be based off multiplayer maps instead of the typical vice-versa. This change is because some multiplayer maps had been made before the campaign was finalized.

Create-A-Class 2.0 will allow players to customize their appearance in addition to their loadout.

Customized killstreaks will return, but the game-ending Tactical Nuke will not. Kills earned from killstreak rewards will not count towards increasing a player's killstreak.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 perks Commando and One Man Army are not going to return.

The PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops will feature dedicated servers.

Shotguns and Machine Pistols as secondary weapons are not expected to return, as Treyarch stated in an interview that they give the player "too much firepower".

3 killstreak: A remote-controlled buggy that explodes when detonated by user.

4 killstreak: Care Package

5 killstreak: Something like Predator Missile called the Ark Angel but it can be controlled freely and guided around the map, not straight down to the ground like the Predator Missile.

Unknown Killstreak: An unknown type of Helicopter.

Unknown Killstreak: An unknown Air Strike (possiby an F4 Phantom or a prototype Harrier)

Unknown Killstreak: Napalm strike

Known Weapon Camouflages: Woodland, Arctic and Desert.

Ballistic Knife: Can be shot and reloaded.

Grenades like Semtex (Stickable).

New Function: Players can now record, manage, edit and upload in-game video clips.

New Maps: Launch and Summit

The crossbow is in Multiplayer. Unlike in Singeplayer, it does not have a scope by default, and it seems explosive tipped bolts are an attachment as the name of the crossbow seen in the multiplayer teaser is "Crossbow Explosive Tip". It also appears to be a secondary weapon.

There appears to be some type of 'UAV Ball', like in Battlefield: Bad Company, which show red dots on the radar in a small radius. This can be seen at around 1:05 in the Multiplayer teaser.

Treyarch has confirmed that it will be close to impossible to use any kind of mods in Call of Duty: Black Ops.

It seems that the player will have the ability to perform a diving roll. This can be seen at around 0:41 in the multiplayer teaser.

The smiley face on the Red Dot Sight and engraving on the Commando (weapon) are most likely features of Create-a-Class 2.0

Assault rifles

- AK-47
- Commando
- AUg
- G11
- M16A1
- FAMAS

Submachine guns

- MAC-10
- AK-74u

Light Machine Guns

- RPK

Sniper Rifles

- Artic Warfare
- Dragonov

Bows

- Crossbow

Shotguns

- SPAS

Pistols

- M1911
- Python

Launchers

- M202 "Grim Reaper" Rocket Launcher
- RPG-7
- China Lake Pump Action Grenade Launcher

Attachments

- Swarovski Scope
- Grenade Launcher
- Suppressor
- Red Dot Sight
- Snub Nose (Possiblities are: Turns pistol into shotgun-like weapon, works like Sawed-off Barrel from WaW)
- Flashlight

Alternate Ammo Types

- Dragon's Breath
- Explosive Bolts

Grenades

- M67
- Smoke Grenade
- Semtex-like Grenade

Other

- Knife
- C4
- Flamethrower
- Ballistic Knife
- Camera Spike
- M-60

And...

Reznov returns in Call of Duty: Black Ops as a member of the Studies and Observations Group. He appears in the mission "Victor Charlie", in a section inside Vietnamese tunnels. The fact that he is a member of SOG strongly implies that he has defected from the USSR, which is odd, seeming how patriotic he was in Call of Duty: World at War. Despite the 20 years that have passed since World at War and Black Ops, his appearance has not changed, still sporting the crew cut and thick beard.

Those are not the only maps, V. Those are the originals. You get those, updated, when you buy those versions.

In that case, this game will have absolutely zero replay value for me. Nazi Zombies has been the ONLY Call of Duty feature since getting XBL that I have seriously wanted to keep playing a while after the game was out.

I thought MW2 was pretty good the first few times I was playing it... but after a month or two, all the shine started to wear off and I was left with the same game I've had since the 360 was first released. No more.

These things should have done this with MW2.
Asking Treyark to do better job than IW did isn't to much to ask I reckon, and from the looks of things so far, it is actually looking pretty positive for Treyark for the reasons above.

Very Happy

I actually have some hope for this game, because after going back and playing WaW, I realized there are a LOT less cheaters, hackers etc.

Hm, I guess so. Now I'll have to wait three years before I can enjoy BO.

I guess you don't like other games because you kill things in them?

I'm as anti to COD as you can get, but even I liked this trailer, as it showed some ingnuity and some fun looking gamemodes.

WTF V?

It's not even like real gambling.

So by your logic, you won't go or use any of the casinos in Fallout: New vegas, because they promote gambling money in game that has no real-life value, and has none of the ill effects of real gambling.

Because here people complain about everything, and text does not convey emotion very well.

Not really. Why?

1. The way you worded your posts was terrible.

2. Your very anti COD so it's hard to tell what a joke is and what isn't.

How the hell were they supposed to figure you were joking?

There was none of these "Razz" no "jk" no "small tiny text" no "/scarsm" .

If you want your joke to be seen/read as a joke you gotta meet us half-way and give a little hint that it is.

Cause like Ang said, text doesn't translate tone of voice or emotion very well. This is why they created the emoticons.

Anyways, will fix videos later if I feel like it. Right now, gotta go.

EDIT: Apparently now most of those videos are privite. Machinimas changed them. They were open for a time. Sorry. I saw them Smile
