Makes sense, really. Why should we continue to do what we have been doing with old tech when we can improve the technology and go even further?

I didn't say that we should completely skip over the Moon, just not try and make it Earth. Mars would be much better.
well obviously we would never terraform the moon, I thought that was implied
we do need to figure out how to build self-sustaining bases in space... on the moon... before we even attempt at mars though
for such a long journey, I think you would probably even be forced to give a whole section of the ship to an oxygen regeneration system... aka a greenhouse... whihc you wouldn't be able to take off of the earth with

there is water on the moon... remember that rocket they shot at it a year ago? that was to check the water content of the impact... they found a lot
