First problem: The West joining up with China.
No way is that going to happen. China simply can't project the power, economically or militarily.
Aside from that, I just can't see the US breaking up without some major shift from now. If the US dollar were to collapse entirely in the next month, or if there was a military coup, then yes.
Right now, in-state tensions (E.G.: Eastern Washington versus Western Washington... the slimy gits) are stronger than state versus federal tension.

I would find this funny and kinda exciting for the first week. It would be nice to know our generation would atleast have one thing to be remembered for.
But then when the world turns to chaos, and falls into a depression right after a recession, it wouldn't be funny at all.
