Dungeons and Dragons

I am pleased to announce that we are organizing a game of dungeons and dragons. However, I have bad news. The game is almost already full. It is of the utmost importance to me that the players in this game are all dedicated and active. Thus, I handpicked the DM and five of the six players, though I had to import a little talent to be absolutely certain. Thankfully, there is one slot for someone who wants to learn the ropes, and so... *breaks pool cue and tosses it into group* ...we're going to have tryouts.

Anyone interested in playing, please post in this thread. While the chosen DM works his creative juices and gets the campaign ready, I'm going to host a small series of generic scenarios in which you are placed in situations to see how you handle the game, and whoever we feel handles the best will be allowed into the game. More details to come when I see how many people are interested. For now, here's who all will be playing.

if this is real D&D then I am totally game for it... as I am probably one of the few other people on this forum that is currently playing a campaign of real D&D

I'm surprised we've only got three signups. Last time someone mentioned DnD, half the site jumped at the opportunity to play.

... How difficult is it for a beginner, and how much time does it take up?

D&D isn't hard.... but it is extremely time consuming... me and my friends have been at our current campeign for a month now... and in game time we are about 7 hours in

It's very time consuming for a night. We do it on a weekly basis. Tonight incidentally.

The game is relatively easy. The hardest part is character creation, and the DM will be there to hold your hand. Plus, if you've made a character in TZA, making one in DnD shouldn't be too hard.

As for how time consuming it is, since we're running it on a forum, I'd say the expectation would be to at least check it once a day, though twice would probably be preferable.
