Mostly because this was a joke/article on IGN and was titled "Gamings Great Deabte". As you can see by the topic post.

So whoever posted this decided to make a thread on it. With the same title. And add a poll.

Simple. Why? Beats me. But I agree though, there are better things to debate about when it comes to gaming. And I don't just mean Game1 vs Game2. Or Company1 vs Company2.

A recent topic/debate that has been going around for a while now around some gaming communities is "Are Video Games Art?" I personally find that more interesting & debatable then fanboyism over ones love of their franchise/company versus another's.

But that's just me. Razz

Yes... but the equipment you have to find, and doesn't re-charge.
Btw
Gravlift =/= jetpack
bubble shield =/= shield lock

I forgot halo and Call of duty are the only FPS's out there :/

So really you didn't like Halo 3 because you're too lazy to get easily accessed equipment?

Videogames are to Art as Cheerleading is to Sports

i mean, if videogames arent art then you haven't played one, it takes long, debilitating work to make a videogame and it requires Artist; story writers; computer modlers; and playtesters

as for the second, if PAINTBALL is a sport Cheerleading is but thats of topic and i wount get into it

Uh, actually Gauz, they added the drop shield, which is a bubble shield mixed with regenerator.

Equipment wasn't that hard to get. Most of the time, I'd inadvertently walk over a regenerator or Power Drain and only realized I had it when I was almost dead.

Honestly, even with the canon rape that (Rot thinks is going to) happen with Halo: Reach, it's still better than Modern Warfare 2.

I can say the same with ODST, but without the canon rape.

The canon rape is already happening. The new TFOR added 400 Covenant ships to the battle of Reach so it would make sense with Hood's speech in Halo 2, yet instead of upping the UNSC numbers, they left them totally outgunned, but Keyes STILL SAYS they are outnumbered 3:1, when its more like 5:1. And apparently ONI knew about the Flood before the Installation 04 incident.

How the shit does this relate to my post?

Noc wrote:Equipment wasn't that hard to get.
I never said it was hard to get, but armor abilities are better in the sesnse they stay with you and re-charge. I think it's easier to attain than equipment. Oh look, i'm right, it is :/

@V: I know, I agree. Video Games are art. But believe it or not, some people seem to think otherwise. It's actually produced some pretty good debates on other sites etc.

Or something more general than two companies, like XBox vs PS3 or console vs computer?

Hmm...

I truly have to say from a campaign standpoint, Call of Duty wins by far for me. Hell Defending Hill 400 on Veteran in COD2 is still my best achievement in my video gaming experience. And its not only COD2 that's good, each COD game i played added something to their campaigns i enjoy. COD4 first Marine level and sniper missions. MW2 taking back Whiskey Hotel and burning alive. All these moments i love to go back and play through.

Halo in my opinion had a solid campaign, but i just don't have those memories that i want to relive again, with one exception, exploring the city in ODST, which is one of the coolest experiences in Halo. Just ask Vigil, we explored the place for hours finding all neat stuff.

Anyways, for multiplayer, i don't mind playing either. I tend to lean towards halo 3 cause of customs, but Call of Duty makes Mikey Myers fun as hell...
But multiplayer for me is more of me just chatting to my friends about different stuff while playing a few games with each other, which i just so happen can do in both games. ^.^

So yeah...

HL vs Halo would be pretty interesting...

HL would dominate in the story department.
Gameplay would be interesting. HL has puzzles and Halo has more strategic firefights.
Halo would triumph in multiplayer.

Now THAT is something that's debatable. COD, though? Not even close.

Speaking of HL and puzzles, do you suppose they'll have the hand-held portal device in Episode 3 (whenever it finally decides to come out)? They were on their way to Aperture Labs after all. How epic would that be?
