Video Game Sins

Post by Lord Pheonix on Sat Jul 17, 2010 5:39 pm

Post your sins to the video game world

I never got past a high enough level to kill a pack of fucking rats in Morrowind and didn't even get out of the jail in Oblivion because I lost interest so fast in both games.

I bought Empire Earth 3 and stopped playing Zelda: Ocarina of Time for a year because those skeletons that come out at night scared the living shit outta me.

1)

I still have yet to play Bioshock, and even passed it up when it was on sale for 99 cents.

I rented and played some of it on console, and the combat was so awful that I just couldn't go on. As beautiful and Myst-like as the setting was, I thought it was fucking awful. Also I got lost quite a bit.

2)

I loved the first Mass Effect, but I still haven't gotten around to buying/playing the sequel, and I probably never will. Why? Because no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't replicate the character I played as on the 360, on the PC version.

3)

I bought Killzone 2, played it for a total of about 1 hour, and sold it back to Gamestop. The bloom was way over-done, and it made it so that I could hardly make anything out with my shitty, over-sensitive eyes.

4)

When I was younger, I was obsessed with "Starfox Adventures" on the GameCube. I fucking loved that game, but I had to stop playing after I got to this part where you had to push A over and over again, as fast as you could, to pass some test of strength. Knowing that I couldn't make it past that part just tormented me for years.

1) The Lopers from Return to Castle Wolfenstein still haunt my dreams.

2) I never could play more than an hour of Doom before getting weirded out and playing minesweeper.

3) I've considered doing two separate StarCraft/Halo fanfics... but that was early in my career.

4) I owned a Gamecube and loved it. Pikmin helped out there.

5) I don't see the appeal in music games. Seriously. Stop having fun, guys.

6) I've picked up the first KotOR only recently, and I'm starting to strongly dislike the storyline.

7A) I only started playing Halo at my cousin's house because I was tired of getting beat senseless by my friends.
7B) Cortana's appearance contributed a LOT to me finishing the first cutscene instead of cutting straight to the game.
7C) The second level, where you got to explore Halo, was what really clinched the deal for me.

8A) I've always said that an RTS cannot be implemented well on the console.
8B) Pikmin is about as close as you can get.
