Brooklyn's Finest

Nobody made a thread about this (well I searched and came up with nothing) so I decided to. This movie came out a while ago, around the time Alice in Wonderland (recent remake) did.

It stars Richard Gere, Don Cheadle, Ethan Hawke, and Wesley Snipes. Gere, Cheadle, and Hawke portray cops in, as the title implies, Brooklyn. Each is trying to get through their own personal problems. Gere is a 20 year veteran who is a week from retirement when the movie begins. He's been traumatized and basically worn down by his 20 years with the NYPD.

Hawke is a family man with three kids, and a pregnant wife. They live in a crappy apartment which Hawke's character desperately wants to get them out of, but doesn't have enough money.

Cheadle is a cop deep undercover in the drug business in Brooklyn. He's been working for (an implied) long time, and is extremely frustrated with his situation and is desperate to get promoted to detective and get his old life back.

Snipes is recently released from prison because of his involvement in the drug business. He is an old friend of Cheadle, and it is told that he saved Cheadle's life in prison (Cheadle was placed in prison undercover) when he was stabbed.

Overall, it was a great movie. The four main characters all gave great performances. Gere was the weakest of the four. It's not going to be a movie you want to watch over and over, so just rent it. Oh and just a warning, there is an a great deal of swearing and nudity. Just saying. Also, Richard Gere fucks a girl in this. It's creepy. Only bad part of the movie.
