None of my arguments are logical. They are entirely sexist (though not misogynist.)

War is between men, and it is fought to protect the women and children back at home.

Either way, drafting women into the military would be awful. It's one thing for a woman to see her husband go to war. Imagine what it would be like for a man to see his wife drafted. Imagine how fucked up that would be.

War is between countries though, not men. If someone can fight, they should fight. Wasting their skills just because they're a women is stupid.

I'm gonna go with the doomsday scenario. If all the men but a handful die out the population is not nearly as screwed as if all the women almost die out too.

That being said I'm not averse to women being on the battlefield at the moment.

What about the Russian snipers in WWII? They were almost exclusively female.

They also had some of most recorded kills of any sniper of the war as well.

But I'm not one to advocate for a draft of woman. Volenteering for a combat or non-combat role is okay with me though.

Women in America can't volunteer for a ground combat role, unless your a field intelligence officer.

What the hell happened to equal rights?

Well, you see, the main reason woman were allowed into the Soviet military at that time was because there was a huge need for combatants. Barbarossa took a huge toll on the Soviet military.

They lost two million men in about two months.

In any case, women are perfect for cramped conditions and long stays, such as in submarines.

Probably something about being physically vulnerable, and disruptive to troop organization. If one of the men develops some sort of fondness for his fellow female combatant, he might not act rationally in the heat of the moment.

For me, it's sort of a romantic idea. Men go off to war to protect their children and wives. Women should be able to serve in all sorts of positions, but I don't think they should be deployed as mobile infantry.

I really always thought the problem would be that if both men and women were drafted, there would be almost nobody left to support the war effort at home.

The way Israel's military works is this: All men and women are required to have a certain amount of years of service (I forget which ones) and then they can choose to stay after their time is up as well. So, unless the situation gets truly desperate, they can have both a (relatively) sizable and well trained military, as well as a committed force at home.

Keep in mind though, nearly all of Israel's wars have been for the state's very survival.

They can't be self aware unless they can think, and we don't make em think (problems always been that they would make a centralized intelligence unit which THEN rationalizes that humans must be eliminated)

The problem is not initial drones and such, but the constant development towards building a better robot, ultimately resulting in a central intelligence Skynet hub, that can relay orders more quickly, which itself is then advanced to the point of self-awareness.

But I was just making a joke to begin with, so...

This isn't as classified as it was say 20-25 years ago. I doubt they would devote their time to take down a petty thread with a bunch of old information.
